Energy allocation

Also called energy-allocated basis

Splitting shared emissions in proportion to the energy content of each co-product. It is the EU RED's rule. Soybean oil is about 19 percent of crushed mass but about a third of its energy, so energy allocation assigns the oil about 1.8 times the burden of mass allocation.
