ISO 14040 and ISO 14044

The International Organization for Standardization's core standards for life cycle assessment. ISO 14040 sets principles and framework; ISO 14044 sets requirements, including the allocation hierarchy. They are method standards, not compliance schemes, and they allow either attributional or consequential framing.
