Soil N₂O (direct and indirect)

Nitrous oxide emitted from fertilized soil. Direct emissions come from the field itself; indirect emissions arise after nitrogen escapes as ammonia gas (volatilization) or dissolves into water (leaching) and is converted elsewhere.
