Intermediate oilseed

Also called intermediate crop

An oilseed grown in the gap between main crops in an existing rotation, such as winter canola, carinata (Ethiopian mustard), camelina or pennycress. Because it uses otherwise idle land, it is assumed to cause little or no ILUC.
