FAME

Also called fatty acid methyl ester, biodiesel

First-generation biodiesel made by reacting fats with methanol. It keeps oxygen in the molecule, which limits its blend share: the European diesel standard EN 590 caps it at 7 percent. It is chemically distinct from HVO.
